History
CJC-1295 was first synthesized by a Canadian company called ConjuChem Technologies in the mid-2000s in order to develop a better alternative for short-acting injectable growth hormone. It underwent phase II clinical trials for lipodystrophy treatment. However, the research was discontinued because of the death of one participant. Investigators explained that the patient died because he had asymptomatic coronary artery disease. Still, the project was terminated because of precautionary measures.

The results found that subcutaneous administration of CJC-1295 DAC increased plasma concentration of GH by 2-3 fold for 6 days and IGF-1 by 1.5-3 fold for 11 days.
